Pool tables are elegant designs for indoor sports rooms or patios. Most people play pool to as a way of spending leisure time with family or friends. When the tables are made from durable materials, they are able to last for over 20 years with very minimal maintenance. The felt is the most vulnerable part of the structure. When considering pool table refelting Denver residents have various things to consider.

The felt is the fabric which is attached to the surface of the table. When re-felting, the first step is to determine the size of the pool table using a measure tape. The felt is then replaced at a sports shop or home improvement depot. The material should be purchased such that there is an extra 12 inches to the width and length. Because there are many colors, it will be important to decide if the same color as the one being replaced will be used or a different one.

The next step is to remove the rails. The tool used for this exercise is the crescent wrench. You should also remove the bolts that attach the rails. Normally, the rails are also covered by felt material and thus will have to be re-felted as well. The rails are then set on the floor carefully next to its position on the table. This is so done as to avoid making any errors when attaching them back. They may be attached on the wrong side.

A staple remover is used when removing the old material. It is used to out staples which are at the felt edges. All felt should be removed from the table so that the newly placed one is perfectly fitted. The one that has been removed can be put in a thrash bag to be disposed later.

The new felt needs to be carefully placed while taking care to inspect that no damaged are done and that there are no stains. A sharp scissor should then be used to cut it, using the border of the table to guide you. Some felt is left over to be used to re-felt the rails.

After making the cut, there is attachment of the felt to the table top using staplers. When stapling, you should start from the mid-point of one of the ends before proceeding to the left and right edges. Thereafter, you proceed to the opposite end and pull the felt tightly. This is followed by stapling it as was the case in the other side.

Side edges are then stapled. It is essential to ascertain that the staples are placed at the same distance from each other. They also need to be lined up in the correct way. 3 slits are cut on each pocket then the felt is wrapped and stapled on the pocket edges. Before stapling, the felt is tightly pulled.

Finally, the structure is reassembled. Rails will be attached to their original positions using a crescent wrench. The pocket lines are inserted and the table is ready for use.
