Many women will concur that professional hair care is very expensive. The frequency of visiting the salon depends on the income level of a person. Those who can afford it go for these services regularly but for the rest, salon hair care is sought only when the occasion is special. For the women with long hair, the rates are high than the normal ones and natural relaxers for black hair can save the day without having to spend much.

Relaxers which are home-made are less costly than getting the job done in the salon. However, do not put your scalp and the health of your hair at risk for a few bucks. That is why before you undertake this you need to know the exact procedure and follow it to the later. Lime and coconut milk are the most popular non-chemical relaxers for black hair. The recipe of creating them is very interesting.

Every black woman has desired a straight hair at some point. Sometimes it is just because they want to experience how it feels to have a straight mane or it could be an attempt to do away with the kinks which are notorious in black mane. It becomes softer and a little wavy.

Chemical relaxers have been associated with many demerits and sometimes can even leave you bald. Instead of having to worry about the possible things which can go wrong if you were to use chemicals to relax you hairs you can just go natural and still achieve the same results peacefully.

The natural relaxers have been used over the centuries. This is a guarantee that they do work and are safe to use. They give the mane a silky texture and leave it softer than it was before. The first method is much easier to carry out but the next one produces better result and the waste produced in the process is not that much.

The procedure starts with mixing the lime juice with half a cup coconut milk. The solution is allowed to sit for some hours until a foam layer appears on the top. The foam is scooped and applied on the hairs. It is left for a couple of hours and then the mane is washed. However, you will need a lot of lime juice and milk in order to get good results. Another drawback with this method is the possibility of the foam breaking down and becoming runny. It will not be effective this way.

A better method is involves addition of 1 or 2 spoons of cornstarch and olive oil to the lime-coconut milk mixture. These products are whipped together under minimal heat until the consistency gets to the level of the conditioners made commercially. This ensures that once it is applied on the hairs it will not run off like the mixture in the first method. Olive oil is for maintenance of good hydration levels of the hairs.

After the application, the mane has to be wrapped with a shower cap for some hours. The material of the cap should be plastic. When it is uncovered, it has to be shampooed and moisturized. The results are very good and the hairs is strengthened too.
